Talbots Law Player of the Match Dan Mousley was full of praise for his teammates as the Bears secured local bragging rights against Worcestershire Rapids at New Road.

Securing a 21-run win in front of a packed New Road, the Bears move top of the North Group with five games remaining.

“It was a really important win,” said the all-rounder. “To come here, with a couple of players missing, and put in a clinical performance we’re really chuffed. It’s always great to beat Worcestershire and the victory against them last year was one of my favourite games as a Bear in professional cricket.

“I thought they way we started at 50 for 0 was a great start and then Chris Benjamin’s knock was very mature. To have Jacob Bethell come at the end and strike a few was outstanding. I’m chuffed for him because he’s a talent player who has been waiting in the wings for an opportunity. We were trying to get close to 180 and take it as deep as we can, but to get over 50 in three overs really put the momentum back in the innings.”

Speaking of his own innings, Mousley added: “All I was thinking was ‘what would Hainy do? I was trying to take it deep and strike a few at the end. I messaged him and he said ‘just go out there and be a match winner’ and that’s what I’ve tried to do.”
