Mir Hamza is hoping to make up for lost time as the left-armer seamer prepares to face Lancashire on Wednesday.
Hamza was originally due to play for the Bears at Kent, but was left frustrated as visa issues halted his travel.
Now arrived and proudly wearing the Bear and Ragged Staff, the 30-year-old is looking forward to the opportunity he’s been given.
“I’m really enjoying the weather, the ground and the team,” said Hamza after Monday’s training session. “Unfortunately I couldn’t play the last match, but I’ve got in three days practice and I’m really enjoying the team atmosphere.
“I played county cricket for Sussex and I really enjoyed it, so thank you to Warwickshire for the opportunity. I can swing the ball, which is my weapon, so I’ll be giving it my all.”
Hamza is available for the next two LV= Insurance County Championship fixtures with Lancashire starting on Wednesday and Middlesex next Tuesday. Both will be played at Edgbaston.
