Vice Captain Alex Davies has become the latest Bear to receive his White Bear Cap.

Awarded to players who have won games for Warwickshire, impressed throughout their career, led on and off the pitch and given back to the group to the community, it, therefore, comes as no surprise to see ‘Davo’ next in line.

An incredibly popular member of the changing room and leader on and off the pitch – he was the Bears’ stand-in Captain during the Blast – the 28-year-old rightfully looked emotional as he was presented his White Bear from Warwickshire and England legend Dennis Amiss.

“My family turned up, which was a nice surprise,” said Davies. “They kept that from me so I’ll certainly be having words about that.

“As a player, you just turn up every day and do the best job you can for the Bear, so to be recognised is a really special thing for me. This place feels like home now and when I walk onto the pitch I feel like I’m doing it with ten of my mates.

“It’s a special day and hopefully it’s the start of a long career here for me.”
