Mark Robinson was understandably delighted as his side secured victory over Middlesex deep into the fourth day.
With 140 overs lost in the game, the Bears bowlers dug deep to bowl the hosts out for 251 and chase down their 58 run target with time ticking away.
“It was exciting and an awesome feeling because we’ve worked really hard today and shown desire,” said the First Team Coach. “To come out on the right side of a victory with two overs to go is outstanding.
“It was all about heart and I’m going to take this victory back to the Oval, because part of this victory was born there. We had a chat, 30 minutes or so after the game and it was cemented heading into the Northants game. It was helped by the skill of Burgy and the heart of OHD to get us over the line in that match and get the win we needed as a team and as a Club.
“It just set us up as there was a lovely feeling heading into this game and we’ve played well. The first two days were incredibly difficult, good batting conditions, and then the sun came out and it was all about the heart and desire.”
