Vitality Blast Off is back and the Bears will launch their home T20 campaign with a huge men’s double-header featuring two big Midlands rivalry games.
Following the success of last season’s inaugural Blast Off, the event returns for a second year at Edgbaston on Saturday 1 June as Derbyshire Falcons host Leicestershire Foxes (2.30pm) before the Bears take on Notts Outlaws (6.30pm).
A host of international talent are expected to be on show for the showpiece double-header which attracted over 14,000 fans in 2023, including Pakistan international Hassan Ali and Bears’ new signing George Garton.
Other stars including Outlaws and England batters Ben Duckett and Alex Hales, Derbyshire’s Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir and Foxes teen spinner Rehan Ahmed are also set to be in action.
Fans can now register to get priority access to tickets at the best prices from just £25 at edgbaston.com/blastoff. Priority opens on Tuesday 28 November, before remaining tickets go on general sale from Tuesday 5 December.
Chief Executive Stuart Cain said: “Vitality Blast Off was a big success this summer as we launched the T20 season and put on a show for fans on and off-the-field. We’re delighted to see that it’s back and even bigger in 2024.
“We’re determined to build on last year’s event and make it even better. With Finals Day already a sell-out, it gives fans another chance to enjoy the famed atmosphere and another big match day at Edgbaston.
“Demand has already been high during our Ballot, and we can’t wait to kick-off our home T20 season in front of a capacity crowd next summer.”
Vitality Blast Off will be expanded in 2024 and feature seven men’s and women’s T20 double headers across the country from Thursday 30 May to Sunday 2 June, with the marquee men’s double-header taking place at Edgbaston on the Saturday.
The full men’s and women’s domestic fixtures will be announced next Thursday (23 November) at 10am.
