Danny Briggs says his goal for 2024 is to contribute to more wins for the Bears.
The left-arm spinner, who penned a contract extension last week that will keep him at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2025 season, is hoping to build on his three years with the Club.
With a County Championship winning medal and 122 wickets for the Bears to his name, Briggs believes the future will be bright.
“I’d love more wickets like anyone would, but as a team I think we’re going in the right direction,” said Briggs. “Compared to the year before, we won a lot of games in all formats, so if I can contribute to more wins then that’s my aim.
He added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I’m thankful to get some more. I’ve got a couple more years and it was nice to get it sorted before the coming season. It’s a weight off my shoulders and I can play freely with time on my side. I feel backed by everyone and it’s in been amazing. Hopefully, we can get some more trophies.”
At 32-years-old, Briggs is deemed as one of the elder statesman within the group. A regular ear for Will Rhodes as Captain, the Isle of Wight native is more than happy to assist new Captain Alex Davies as much as possible.
“I’d love to help where I can,” added Briggs. “Al showed amazing skill as a Captain in the Blast and I’m really looking forward to working with him. His drive is hopefully going to drive us on and pull us all in the same way. I’m looking forward to it.”
