Report: Glamorgan v Bears, Second XI T20
An impressive bowling effort and a ruthless half-century from Dan Mousley saw the Bears comfortably defeat Glamorgan in a Second XI Trophy fixture at the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground.
Danny Briggs (2/24), Michael Booth (1/19), Craig Miles (1/8), Dan Mousley (3/26), Jake Lintott (2/19) and Che Simmons (1/18) were all amongst the wickets as they dismissed the visitors, who won the toss and opted to bat first, for just 121 in 17.4 overs.
The reply to the modest total was spearheaded by the all-rounder Mousley, who struck eight boundaries in his 62, to help his side reach the target in 15.4 overs.
It was an emphatic performance from an experienced side on the eve of this year’s Vitality Blast. The Bears kickstart their campaign away at Durham on Friday night, before Blast Off – the home opener – on Saturday. Purchase your ticket here.
Danny Briggs led the side, with Alex Davies watching on, and they’ll be excited by the bowling depth that currently is available. The spin quintet, which also included Jacob Bethell and Rob Yates who didn’t bowl, nicely supplemented an attack that was without Hassan Ali, George Garton, Richard Gleeson and Aamir Jamal.
That group bowled back at Edgbaston, preparing to win the North Group for a third successive year.
