Pakistan's Sadaf Shamas spoke to the media following their 53-run defeat to England at Edgbaston.

Shamas, who shone with the bat, looked in beautiful touch, striking 35 from 21 balls (seven fours), before a cruel run out led to a middle-order collapse.

Nevertheless, the Girls in Green will take plenty of confidence from the clash, having restricted England to 11/4 and getting off to a fast start with the bat.

“It was a good game, but not a good bowling performance in the death overs,” said the 25-year-old. “With the bat in the middle overs we didn’t score enough runs and that’s where we lost the game. The plan was to attack the ball, which we did at the beginning, but we struggled at the end.

“This was my first time in front of a very big crowd and it was very good.”
