30 June 2024
Michael Burgess hit his seventh First-Class century to cement a determined Warwickshire fightback on the opening day of the Vitality County Championship Division One match with Somerset at Taunton. Going in at number eight, the 29-year-old wicketkeeper made an unbeaten 126, off 167 balls, with 14 fours and 3 sixes, to build on the good work of Ed Barnard (92) and skipper Will Rhodes (63) after their side had slumped to 40 for four on losing the toss.
