Sustainability

At Vitality Blast Final’s Day, we are showcasing some of our successes from last year’s Go Green Game and will continue the legacy of the first international sustainable matchday.

Electric Mowers

Warwickshire County Cricket Club has become the first professional cricket club in the country to operate an all-electric fleet of grounds equipment to maintain its pitches through a new partnership with Dennis Mowers.

This follows the successful trial of the all-electric ground equipment at the Go Green Game 2023 and is part of our Edgbaston 4 Sustainability pledge and an ambition to make the stadium Net Zero by 2030.

  • Reduction of carbon emissions by 7 tonnes annually – equivalent of driving 6,000km in a diesel car.
  • Reduced noise pollution, meaning less disturbance for events and corporate clients & media and broadcast on matchdays.

Waste & Recycling

New waste and recycling signage which was implemented at last years Go Green Game has supported with a 11.5% increase in recycling rates. Edgbaston Stadium has recycled 39.1% of waste in 2024.

ISO20121 accreditation

Edgbaston Stadium was the first cricket ground to attain the ISO20121 accreditation for Sustainable Event Management. The have retained this standard for a second year in a row now and plan to continue to develop the management plans.

Please note that Edgbaston is a cashless stadium, so please bring your card or e-wallet for all payments.
