India legend Robin Uthappa said there are few match-ups in world cricket to rival England against India – and that the stakes rise even higher when both Men and Women teams are in town.
Uthappa – who made 59 white ball appearances for his country – was part of the India legends team that won the inaugural World Championship of Legends event at Edgbaston in July.
While here he talked of the anticipation that’s already building on the subcontinent ahead of India’s tour of England in 2025 which will see a Men’s Test and Women’s IT20 in Birmingham next July.

“You get a mixed crowd, a lot of people from the subcontinent will be here, and the English fans also turn out in good numbers. That’s what helps create a special atmosphere at the Edgbaston Tests for England versus India.
“The venue itself has so much history. The stakes are upped for the players, they want to perform on this stage. England and India is a fantastic rivalry and the stakes will be high.
