Some of international cricket’s fiercest rivals will lock horns again at Edgbaston this summer as the World Championship of Legends (WCL) returns for a second summer.
Edgbaston will again be the home for WCL 2025 as greats of the game from England, Pakistan, India, Australia, West Indies and South Africa go head to head.
Almost 50,000 people attended Edgbaston last year for the inaugural event and were treated to thrilling cricket – stirring memories of classic clashes from the past – and some standout performances.
Demand is expected to be high for some games so register your interest now for tickets at edgbaston.com/wcl.
India’s Yuvraj Singh, Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi, former South Africa captain Jacques Kallis, Aussie speed king Brett Lee, and West Indies’ great entertainer Chris Gayle were just some of the players on show.
The England side featured Kevin Pietersen and Warwickshire legend Ian Bell who recorded the highest average (76.67) in the tournament with 230 runs from five innings.
Organisers are yet to reveal the player line-up for this year’s competition – which runs from 18 July to 2 August – but they’ve promised even more star names in 2025.
Harshit Tomar, Founder and CEO of the World Championship of Legends, said: “The competition will be bigger and better. It’ll feature even more marquee players, making the teams stronger and the matches more intense and exciting.
“From the opening clash to the grand finale, each match promises to be a journey into the golden era of cricket. Rivalries will be reignited, stories will be retold, and history will be made.”
Edgbaston will stage the tournament’s first four group games (Fri 18 to Sun 20 July) before returning for the semi finals on 31 July and grand final on Saturday 2 August.
The action starts on Friday 18 July with England Legends taking on Pakistan Legends.
South Africa Legends face West Indies Legends on Saturday 19 July before Ashes rivalries and rekindled when England Legends take on Australia Legends later in the day.
And on Sunday 20 July India Legends face Pakistan Legends in what’s set to be a packed, carnival atmosphere at Edgbaston.
Last summer’s game sold out and demand for tickets is again expected to be strong.
Fans can register now to get priority access to tickets at the best prices for all games at Edgbaston, including India Champions v Pakistan Champions and the finals at edgbaston.com/wcl.
