As Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care concludes its long-standing sponsorship of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, we extend our sincere gratitude for more than a decade of exceptional partnership.
Since joining the Bears as lead partner and shirt sponsor in 2013, Scrivens has been a constant presence through some of Warwickshire’s defining cricketing moments. During this period, the Club enjoyed major success, including promotion from Division Two in 2018, a foundation that helped propel future triumphs.
The years that followed brought unforgettable achievements. The 2021 season stands out as one of the most decorated in the Club’s history, with the Bears lifting both the County Championship and the Bob Willis Trophy, a double that will forever be remembered at Edgbaston. Scrivens, proudly represented on the Bears’ shirts, shared in those celebrations as a key supporter throughout the campaign.
There were remarkable individual performances too. In 2019, opener Dom Sibley produced a phenomenal season, becoming the only player to reach 1,000 County Championship Division One runs, finishing with 1,324. It was the most in the competition, earning him his England call-up.
In 2022, Liam Norwell delivered one of the greatest bowling performances ever seen at Edgbaston, taking 9–62 on the final day against Hampshire to secure a dramatic five-run victory and preserve Warwickshire’s Division One status.
Alongside these on-field moments, Scrivens played a vital role off the pitch. Their support for community and charity projects, engagement with fans, and commitment to player wellbeing, including eye and hearing checks, made the partnership far more than a commercial relationship. It was a collaboration rooted in shared Midlands heritage, passion, and purpose.
Stuart Cain, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: “Scrivens have been everything you could ever want in a partner, and after 13 years of working together, we have plenty of fond memories to look back on.
“From promotion in 2018 to doing the double in 2021, it’s been fantastic to see one of the West Midlands’ leading companies on the front of the Bears’ shirt during those celebrations. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and we thank Scrivens for their incredible support, both on and off the field.
“I know Nicholas and Mark are both lifelong Bears’ fans and I’m looking forward to seeing them at Edgbaston this summer and beyond – they’ll always be welcome.”
Mark and Nicholas Georgevic commented: “We have loved every single minute of our 13-year partnership with Warwickshire. Everyone at the club, from the senior executives, colleagues and players have been an absolute delight to work with, at all times totally professional and forward thinking in their approach to getting the best from our relationship.
“At the root of our decision to sponsor the Bears back in 2013 was that we are both huge Warwickshire fans and have been for over 50 years. That will certainly not change as we continue to support the team from the stands.
“We wish the players and the entire team at Warwickshire the greatest success in the future.”
As the sponsorship now comes to an end, everyone at Warwickshire County Cricket Club offers heartfelt thanks to Scrivens. Their unwavering support, loyalty, and enthusiasm have played a genuine part in shaping more than a decade of memories and success.
Thank you, Scrivens — once a Bear, always a Bear.
