Warwickshire Women visit Yorkshire on Saturday 16 May for their latest Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture. Taking place at Scarborough Cricket Club, here are the details…

Bears’ form guide (last three)

W-L-W
The Bears climbed to fourth in the Metro Bank One Day Cup table with victory in their last outing against Lancashire, and showed plenty of grit in the process after a difficult loss the week prior.

In need of a positive result, Warwickshire successfully chased 193 in a game reduced to 42 overs due to rain. It was a team performance at Old Trafford, with the wickets shared and several players contributing with the bat. Should the Bears beat Yorkshire, they would’ve turned their season around in the space of four days.

Three in focus

Mary Taylor
It was a complete performance from Mary Taylor in Warwickshire’s victory over Lancashire on Wednesday. The all-rounder impressed with both bat and ball, firstly taking three for 47 from nine overs to help reduce the Red Rose to 226, before blasting an unbeaten 42 from just 27 balls to see the Bears over the line.

Charis Pavely
Now the leading run scorer in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, Charis Pavely is having an outstanding season. In her past four games, she’s scored 128*, 127, 55 and 63, with those scores seeing her called up to the England squad for their One Day International with New Zealand last week. Incredibly, she has now amassed 463 runs from seven matches in the competition, at an average of 92.60!

Jess Jonassen (Yorkshire)
Australian World Cup winner, all-rounder Jess Jonassen, has made her mark so far this season for Yorkshire. While Pavely is the leading run-scorer in the competition, Jonassen isn’t too far behind in terms of runs scored and has starred with the ball too, so this could be a fascinating battle. She’s taken 15 wickets from six matches, averaging 12.06 in the process. This is where the game could be won or lost.

Opposition insight

Yorkshire sit just two points behind the Bears in the table through seven games, and despite having won only two of those, that stat doesn’t tell the whole story. The White Rose have been on the wrong end of some incredibly close games, and but for a few extra runs or wickets, they could be challenging towards the top of the table. A 16-run loss to Hampshire last time out came after a 13-run loss to Essex. They also tied a brilliant game with Durham and lost by just one wicket earlier in the season to Somerset.

In Jonassen, Yorkshire have arguably the leading all-rounder in the competition. As well as being the top wicket-taker, she’s also scored 316 runs, while teammate Sterre Kalis has 338 runs. The pair are the fourth and fifth highest run-scorers in the competition. Yorkshire will provide a tough test for the Bears with both bat and ball.

Previous meetings

This week will see Warwickshire take on Yorkshire for the first time in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. After the competition’s inaugural season last year, Yorkshire were included in 2026 as the ninth Tier One team.
