The return of the Vitality Blast is less than a week away, as both Warwickshire Bears’ teams start their quest for silverware on Friday 22 May.

The women’s team travel to Chelmsford to take on Essex and the men play Gloucestershire in Bristol before EdgBLASTon hosts the Blast Off double-header two days later.

Tickets for Blast Off on Sunday 24 May remain on offer at £15 for adults and £5 for U16s.

We want to make sure you Prepare for the Bears. After highlighting the batters and bowlers to look out for earlier this week, here’s who will be making a difference in the field…

Rob Yates
Rob Yates has a habit of producing brilliance in the field. Look no further than this catch to dismiss Phil Salt in last year’s Blast. He was at it again just a few weeks ago in the Rothesay County Championship, with this stunner at second slip. The top order batsman could be a difference-maker in the outfield too.

Nat Wraith
Nat Wraith will be behind the stumps for the Bears this summer, taking catches and stumpings. In short-form cricket, she continues to make a real difference. Across 100 T20 games in her career to date, Wraith has been involved in 74 dismissals which include 24 catches and 50 stumpings – here’s one from last year.

Jacob Bethell
The England star needs no introduction here. A world-class batsman, he also has a track record of making things happen in the outfield. Take a look at this grab from 2023 for the Bears at Headingley. Expect more of the same from one of the most talked-about prospects across formats in today’s game.

Katie George
There are a lot of Katie George catches that could feature here, she’s produced that many. Here’s an outstanding grab at first slip from last year’s Vitality Blast. George has been doing that sort of thing for years and will be a vital part of the Bears’ fielding efforts this season. Go back to 2022, and she produced this, racing in from the boundary, in The Hundred for Welsh Fire.
