Ethan Bamber has been awarded the White Bear, also known as the full county cap.

The cap, which recognises the role of an established player within the First Team ranks, was presented to Bamber ahead of Warwickshire’s Rothesay County Cup fixture with Glamorgan.

Bamber is enjoying his best season to date as a professional, and is currently the leading wicket-taker in Division One of this year’s Rothesay County Championship through six games, taking 29 wickets at an average of 22.27.

The 27-year-old, who joined Warwickshire from Middlesex, is in his second full season with the Bears.

Bamber says it’s a privilege to be recognised and that it’s been a special 14 months since he made his debut for the Club last year.

“I was incredibly surprised and very touched,” he said. “I feel very honoured to be recognised in that way.

“We’ve got a great bowling unit and to be a part of that is a privilege. There’s been some good memories as a cohesive group where we’ve bowled really well, and contributing to that is a nice feeling.

“One of my proudest moments was my debut here. I know how I felt before that, obviously wanting to make an impact. I was very nervous but that first morning, I was lucky that it went alright.

“It was the foundation of what’s been a hugely enjoyable 14 months.”

Warwickshire County Cricket Club Captain, Ed Barnard, who presented the cap, praised the impact Bamber has had since joining the Bears, and his fantastic start to the 2026 season.

“When he came here, he came here with a considerable reputation and showed it last year,” he said. “I think this season, he’s just gone to another level.

“He’s the most feared opening bowler around at the minute.

“He’s been brilliant, he’s a great member of the squad and he’s a great teammate.”
