Warwickshire’s Junior Bears programme has surpassed 1,000 members for the third successive year, as the Club’s junior membership continues to go from strength to strength.
The announcement comes on the eve of the 2026 Vitality Blast, with EdgBLASTon set to host Blast Off on Sunday 24 May, with both the men’s and women’s teams in action as part of the home double-header.
Interest in the Junior Bears – which costs just £10 to join – has soared in recent years, jumping from under 200 members at the start of the 2022 season, to now reaching four figures every year since 2024.
Young fans range from Little Bears (under 4s) to Cubs (5-11) and Grizzlies who are aged from 12 to 15-years-old.
Membership includes access to all Vitality Blast, County Championship and One Day Cup matchdays, which works out at 25p per day of cricket. Junior members also receive one free adult guest pass (RRP £25.00), a welcome gift, access to dedicated events and a personalised matchday experience.
Will Kerr, Warwickshire County Cricket Club Ticketing and Membership Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to see that so many young members want to experience cricket at Edgbaston Stadium.
“We want to inspire the next generation to get involved in the game for many years to come, be that as a fan, as a player or as someone that wants to work in the sport that we love.
“This summer is going to be an exciting one. With the Vitality Blast, Metro Bank One Day Cup and the Rothesay County Championship, there is something for everyone, and we’re looking forward to seeing our Junior Bears watching the action unfold.”
As part of Warwickshire celebrating the youngest Bears fans, Junior Bears Takeover Day returns, and will be taking place on Sunday 31 May with Warwickshire taking on Northamptonshire Steelbacks at EdgBLASTon.
On the day, Junior Bears will be helping fulfil several roles around the stadium, including as Junior Ground Staff, Junior Stadium Announcer, Junior Post-Match Reporter, Junior Photographer and Junior Graphic Designer.
As part of Junior Bears Takeover Day there will also be a Kids Zone, live music, balloon modellers, a digital scavenger hunt, West Midlands Fire and there will be Bears’ player signings post-match.
