Edgbaston today plays host to a very special audience this afternoon as The High Sheriff of the West Midlands hosts his annual Sumer Garden Party, in recognition of young individuals whose actions in their local communities have inspired and helped others.
The High Sheriff, Dr Keith Bradshaw DL, will honour nine attendees with his ‘Inspiring Others’ Awards as part of an afternoon event that also includes a Kwik Cricket tournament contested by local youngsters.
“Many nominees have overcome difficult life circumstances and all of them give their time and energy freely to helping and inspiring others, making a real difference people’s lives,” said the High Sheriff of the West Midlands. “I am indeed honoured to present their awards today.
“Special thanks go to Norman Gascoigne, Chairman of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, who has very generously permitted us to begin our event on the sacred turf, and to the England Cricket Board for arranging the fabulous display of emerging young cricketing talent in our Kwik Cricket tournament.”
