In 2016, Virat has featured against Australia in a five-match ODI series down under, three T20Is that followed; T20s in Sri Lanka; Asia Cup; World T20; Test series against West Indies and most recently series against New Zealand comprising Tests and ODIs with the recent England Test series wrapping up the year.

Against England, in the fourth Test at the Wankhede, Kohli thundered his third Test double ton – all coming this year and most for an Indian captain. First of them came against West Indies when he scored 200, he bettered that to score 211 against New Zealand and now went even bigger to get 235 on Sunday against England.
