Today [31st May 2019] ICC Cricket for Good, in partnership with UNICEF, announced the launch of the #OneDay4Children prize draw at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The launch was conducted by Mark Chapman who announced the unique opportunity to all spectators at The Oval.

The free prize draw will be open to anyone within the UK from 30th May to 3rd July 2019, and all individuals entering will have the opportunity to win the grand prize, which includes:

  • 4 tickets to the Cricket World Cup Final
  • The chance to meet Sachin Tendulkar at the Final
  • Walking the trophy out to the field of play at the Final
  • A one-of-a-kind bat from the CWC19 Opening Party signed by legends and celebrities from the 10 competing teams

In addition to the grand prize there will be several other prizes to win including shirts signed by England and India players, bats signed by the 10 captains and tickets to Cricket World Cup games.

The quality of the prizes offered highlights the importance of the #OneDay4Children campaign at the Cricket World Cup, and it is hoped that it will drive significant fundraising for UNICEF projects throughout June and early July. The fundraising will be pushed across multiple platforms, including CWC matches, fanzones, broadcast and social media. This fundraising will go alongside the activity and fundraising planned for the #OneDay4Children match at Edgbaston on 30th June (England v India, Edgbaston).

Fans will be able to enter the prize draw by texting* WIN to 78555. When entering the prize draw, fans will have the option of donating £10. 100% of this donation will go to UNICEF projects in cricket playing nations around the world, focussed on supporting children to live happy and healthy lives

David Richardson, Chief Executive of the ICC Cricket World Cup said: “The #OneDay4Children campaign at the Cricket World Cup is a hugely exciting and important campaign for the ICC. The unique prizes we are offering through this Prize Draw highlight our ambition and will enable our fans to be part of a true money-can’t-buy experience. We look forward to as many people entering and donating as possible to support UNICEF projects all around the world”.

Nasser Hussain, #OneDay4Children ambassador said: “Four lucky fans have the chance to be a part of the Cricket World Cup final and meet Sachin Tendulkar. This is an incredible prize and well worth entering. The fact that fans also have the chance to donate to UNICEF makes this a no brainer! I urge all fans to enter and donate to UNICEF by texting WIN to 78555”.

Rashid Khan, UNICEF Goodwill ambassador said: “I’m proud to support One Day for Children at the ICC Cricket World Cup this summer. As a child, I learned to play cricket with a tennis ball on the streets of Jalalabad. It was tough because of the lack of facilities and equipment. When my parents saw that I had talent, they said, ‘You can do this, you have our support.’ That helped me a lot. It gave me belief and motivation. I play cricket for my family and for Afghanistan. It’s great to see cricket inspiring children throughout Afghanistan. Children, who have been through so much, have new hopes and dreams. Please support One Day for Children so that Unicef can help children in Afghanistan and around the world learn, play and be healthy. All children need is a little help from us.”
