Warwickshire 12 points, Durham 9 points
Batting first after winning the toss, both Warwickshire openers, Umeed and Javid went cheaply but skipper Coleman 33 and Webb 20, steadied the innings before Lamb 57 and Mellor 61 added seventy two for the fifth wicket.
Adair 26 and Hannon-Dalby 30 played aggressively to help Warwickshire reach 252 with Hickey 4-46 the pick of the visitors’ attack.
Durham in reply lost Hickey 12, early, before Clark 55 and Muchall 22 added forty six for the second wicket until Adair removed them both. Gordon then trapped Poynter lbw for 8 while Adair had former Bear, MacLeod, caught at slip by Coleman, for eleven.
By the close, Durham were 114-5 trailing by 138.
There was no play on the second day due to rain but when play recommenced on the third day it took only twelve overs to pick up the final five wickets with Brookes dismissing both overnight batsmen and Panayi taking the last two wickets to fall within his only three deliveries. Adair finished with 4-34 and Brookes 3-45 for Warwickshire as Durham were bowled out for 137.
In their second innings, Warwickshire’s opening bat, Umeed, made an undefeated 86, supported by Coleman 27, Webb 25 and Mellor 19* as Warwickshire made 182-4 from fifty eight overs before declaring and the match finished as a draw, victim to the weather once again.
