Warwickshire were looking to follow up their success against Nottinghamshire in their last match with another victory against a useful Yorkshire side in their latest encounter in the Second Eleven Trophy at York CC.
The home side won the toss and chose to bat.
Half centuries from the top three in the Yorkshire line-up, helped them reach 207-2 inside 30 overs, with Tattersall 98, Brook 58 and Callis 55 giving the home side a strong launch paid to build a challenging total for Warwickshire to chase.
Panayi removed both openers, but Gibson became the fourth half centurion as Yorkshire posted 362-7 from their 50 overs with Panayi finishing with 4-76, Spencer 2-72 and Adair 1-60 for Warwickshire.
The in-form opening pair of Umeed 51 and Banks 46 put on 104 in 21 overs to give Warwickshire a strong start, but four wickets in 12 balls for the addition of just nine runs turned the initiative and grip on the match in the home side’s favour, despite Johnson 48 and Adair 49, adding 70 for the fifth wicket.
Thornton hit a quick fire 31 but, as wickets continued to fall, Warwickshire ran out of batsmen and were dismissed for 270 with seven overs still unused.
Carver took three wickets for Yorkshire while Wainman, Shaw and Gibson took two each and Thompson the other one.
Yorkshire recorded victory by 92 runs.
