Warwickshire Women will enter the final weekend of their Royal London Women’s One-Day Championship campaign knowing that one win from their two games would make them champions.
Marie Kelly’s side face second-placed Yorkshire at Harrogate on Sunday then third-placed Lancashire at the Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground, Portland Road, on Bank Holiday Monday.

A 100 per cent record of five wins from five games has left Warwickshire on the brink of the title. With just the two games remaining they sit 12 points clear of Yorkshire and 25 ahead of Lancashire and Nottinghamshire.
The perfect scenario this weekend – to seal the title with a win at Harrogate and then return to Birmingham for the final game in front of their home supporters on Monday with the title already banked.
“We are in a great position and, although we would have a second chance on Monday, it would be lovely to make sure of the title by beating Yorkshire,” said captain Kelly. “Yorkshire are a good side but we have played some really strong cricket this year and know that, if we play well, we are capable of beating anyone.

“To win the title would be a fantastic achievement having only recently come up from Division Two. Personally, as captain, it has always been my goal to bring the county championship to Warwickshire and I would be so pleased for all the players because they have worked so hard.
“We will try to finish the job on Sunday. That would mean we could go into our last home game nice and relaxed and try to finish with a big win in front of our supporters. We have had a lot of new supporters and Warwickshire members coming along to watch us this season which is great and we really appreciate that support.”
