The competition designed to revitalise Sunday cricket at clubs across the region, will see it's final hosted at Edgbaston Stadium on Sunday 1 September 2019.
The Warwickshire Sunday Smash, a new 100-ball format tournament for the recreational game in 2019 that’s designed to revitalise Sunday cricket at clubs across the region, will see it’s final hosted at Edgbaston Stadium on Sunday 1 September 2019.
Launched by Warwickshire Cricket Board (WCB) and Warwickshire CCC, the new competitionwill create a localised league format in June and July, with the top teams progressing to a Finals Day.
The format will therefore enable clubs to make each game a social event, attracting families and friends to the cricket club on a Sunday afternoon.
Matches will start at 2pm to give clubs an opportunity to remain open throughout the day, following the morning’s programme of youth cricket.
All fixtures will be played with a white ball in coloured clothing and there are no league fees for any club that enters.
Any clubs wishing to take part in the Warwickshire Sunday Smash, who have not yet signed up, have until Friday 22 February enter.
