Tony Frost

Batting Coach

Man of many skills

Tony Frost is one versatile character! Following a successful 12-year playing career as wicketkeeper/batsman with the Bears, ‘Frosty’ spent spells on the ground staff and coaching staff, shining in both roles.

Having originally called time on his playing career in 2006, Tony came out of retirement when Tim Ambrose was called into the England squad in 2008. It proved an inspired comeback as he scored 1,003 championship runs, averaging 83.58, and scoring a career best 242 not out against Essex at Chelmsford.

Since moving in to senior coaching responsibilities in 2013, Tony’s skills have been widely recognised. He has worked at times with the England camp and, after five years as Second XI coach, last winter stepped up to become designated batting coach.
