Back home

World class all-rounder Mo returned to his hometown Club in 2023 after a 16 year absence saying he had “unfinished business” with the Bears.

Birmingham-born Mo, who attended Moseley School, came through the Edgbaston Academy and was the second-youngest batter to score a first-class half-century for the Club before joining Worcestershire.

A stellar international career followed, bringing more than 250 appearances for England for whom he has scored more than 1,000 runs in each of the three formats.

“I’m delighted to return home to Edgbaston. I was born and raised just a few miles away from the stadium. When the opportunity presented itself, it was a decision I couldn’t say no to and I believe I have unfinished business at the Bears.”

All Rounder

Mo’s return was restricted to four Vitality Blast outings in 2023 – in which he captained the side – after he unexpectedly came out of international red ball retirement to play for England in the Ashes.

A true leader, he has experience captaining both England, Worcestershire and Birmingham Phoenix – plus franchise T20 teams around the world.

A glorious batter, able to change the course of a match in minutes, and wily spin-bowler – he took 5 wickets in his 11 Blast overs for the Bears in 2023 – Bears fans will be hoping to see more of Mo in 2024!
