Edgbaston Stadium has announced a pre-Christmas sell out of Vitality Blast Finals Day 2021 for the second consecutive year.
Billed as the biggest day in the domestic cricket calendar, 86 per cent of purchasers for Vitality Blast Finals Day 2020 rolled over their tickets to the next year’s event, at no cost.
The remaining tickets have been snapped up in record time by Warwickshire Members and purchasers from Edgbaston’s cancelled 2020 Major Matches who chose to keep their ticket value as credit.
Edgbaston will be launching an official Ticket Exchange re-sale platform in the coming weeks, offering ticket buyers who can no longer attend the 2021 date an opportunity to sell their tickets, at face value, to other supporters.
Alex Perkins, Head of Commercial said: “Vitality Blast Finals Day has become one of the biggest sporting events not only on the cricket calendar, but on the sporting calendar in the UK. We have worked hard over the last few years to create an unrivalled experience that can appeal to all supporters.
“We wanted to make the booking process as easy as possible, offering roll overs for those who purchased in 2020 to keep the same seat in 2021. And with our Ticket Refund Guarantee, spectators were able to purchase with confidence knowing their money is safe.

“We will also be launching an official online re-sale platform in the coming weeks and encourage anyone looking for tickets to check this regularly for when additional tickets become available.”
As in previous years for Vitality Blast Finals Day, Edgbaston holds an agreed allocation of tickets back for the four semi-final teams.
ECB Managing Director County Cricket, Neil Snowball, said: “Following such a challenging year for everyone it’s great to see that the enthusiasm for county cricket is as strong as ever with thousands of cricket fans keen to reserve their place for one of the stand-out days in the sporting calendar.
“The fans are such an important part of Vitality Blast Finals Day, and the unique atmosphere that is generated at Edgbaston each year, and we’re working hard with the team at Warwickshire County Cricket Club to make sure that they can return safely next year. We continue to work closely with Government and the other major sports on plans for the safe return of crowds as we prepare for what promises to be an exciting summer of cricket in 2021.”

Finals Day is part of Edgbaston’s programme of Major Matches in 2021 which includes a day/night ODI between England and Pakistan. Discussions about further series are also continuing with the possibility of scheduling additional men’s bilateral cricket in June, including Test cricket. The ECB are also due to confirm details about the planned Sri Lanka IT20 series, scheduled to take place at Edgbaston, in due course.
