Theo Wylie
Shrewsbury School & Shifnal CC
Theo has been on a whirlwind of a journey to higher honours through 2022 and into 2023. Theo found a niche this year opening the batting in white ball cricket, whilst switching from left arm pace to orthodox spin. He took to both roles like a ‘duck to water’ and hasn’t looked back.
His destructive top order batting with the U18’s led to his Second XI debut in the ECB T20 competition. He was then selected and impressed for the Midlands region at Super Fours, whilst also included in the WCCC first-team squad for the Metro Bank 50 over competition.
Performances throughout the season and at Super Fours, led to inclusion in an ECB invitational XI to play both Ireland and Australia U19’s in August. Such was his impact in these matches Theo was fast-tracked into the full England U19 side in the Australia series, and is travelling with the England U19’s for the quadrangular India / Bangladesh / India A series in November 2023. Theo hopes to cement a place in the U19 World Cup squad in January 2024.
