Birmingham Bears are saying thank you to some of the heroes of the COVID pandemic by giving away 1,000 tickets to NHS staff for the Vitality Blast fixture against Yorkshire Vikings on Wednesday 30 June.
With tickets for all Vitality Blast matches currently at the Early Bird price of just £15 for adults and free for under 16s, NHS staff can claim free tickets while additional tickets will be available at a discounted price.
Alex Perkins, Sales & Marketing Director at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: “The Vitality Blast is one of the most exciting times of the year at Edgbaston and there has been a huge interest in its return this summer. As a result, we want to use this free ticket initiative as a small token of our appreciation for the inspiration and heroic efforts from local NHS staff in the fight against Coronavirus.
“Staff from all NHS Trusts can apply and we look forward to welcoming them on the night and showing our appreciation.”

Tickets can be claimed online by providing proof of NHS employment at edgbaston.com. Once the form has been completed, all NHS staff who have registered will be sent a promo code to claim their complimentary tickets online.
The allocation of free tickets for NHS staff follow on from the Bears’ NHS Heroes campaign, which launched last year and will see a small number nominated local people presented with a signed bat and be hosted at Edgbaston as guests of honour at the fixture.
Both activities form part of a wider community response to the COVID pandemic from the Club and the Edgbaston Foundation, which saw the Edgbaston car park transformed into a COVID test centre, the Exhibition Hall converted into a food storage and distribution hub with local charity Thrive Together Birmingham and the #Toys4Birmingham Christmas toy bank appeal.
NHS staff will also be able to claim 10% off Christmas Parties at Edgbaston, with the Club due to host a busy schedule of Dancing Through The Decades themed nights in December.
