Report: Rapids v Bears, Second XI T20
Ed Pollock and Jake Lintott took starring roles as the Bears 2nd XI twice defeated Worcestershire comfortably in back-to-back T20s at Barnt Green.
In the first, the Bears won by four wickets after spinner Lintott’s four for 26 restricted the home side to 158 for four. Pollock then blasted an unbeaten 87 (54 balls, eight fours, five sixes) to see his side to victory with ten balls to spare.
The opener then carried on where he left off when the Bears batted first in the second match. He smashed 45 from just 15 balls (six fours, three sixes) to lay the platform for an imposing total of 235 for three.
It was the perfect T20 team batting display, with power hitting up top and then more at the end as Chris Benjamin (95 not out, 43 balls, nine fours, five sixes) and Jake Bethell (60 not out, 30 balls, nine fours) added 85 from the last 46 balls of the innings.
In reply, Worcestershire were bowled out for 150 with two wickets apiece for Lintott, Manraj Johal and Awais Mohammed.
