Bowling Coach Matt Mason has been impressed with the arsenal he's inherited at the club.
The 48-year-old joined up with the club just as the County Champions looked to defend their title, following a Bowling Coach stint with Western Australia and the Big Bash League’s Perth Scorchers.
The Bears are in the midst of a gruelling run of Championship fixtures and the former Worcestershire pace bowler is taking a step back to evaluate the talent.
“It’s like everything you just get here, get to know people and see how they operate,” said Mason.
“I must admit the first three games has been fantastic. They’re a lovely bunch of guys, the coaching staff are fabulous, there’s great honesty and communication around the group as well as a hell of a lot of talent. That can’t be understated as there’s great potential in the dressing room, including some established players who still have room to grow. I think that’s really exciting.
“You sort of hope that when you come somewhere new you have a chance to make an impact. I think once those relationships are established and we all know each other well then I’m sure we’re going to do some great things with a lot of fun along the way.”
