Alex Davies praised his teammates as the Bears secured their fifth win from seven Vitality Blast fixtures.
With early wickets and skilful death bowling, Durham were restricted to 141 for seven which was slightly under par.
Paul Stirling was unfortunate to depart first ball, but the Bears showed a fine balance of skill and patience to knock off the 142 target with two overs remaining.
“We’ve won some games scoring 200, but today was a different kind of game,” said Davies who scored 49 and was voted Talbots Law Player of the Match. “We had to show some maturity and get over the line in a different way.
“The bowlers set it up really well and it’s another game where we’ve taken a lot of wickets in the powerplay and it really pegged them back. We’ve read conditions well and Craig Miles is proving to be an outstanding death bowler.
“Personal milestones don’t mean that much to me and I decided to take a risk and get a boundary. It didn’t come off but it says a lot about the team as I know there’s Adam Hose, Chris Benjamin and Carlos Brathwaite behind me so I can do that.”
