On a night of records there was only one person to talk to following Friday night's heroics at Trent Bridge.
As the Bears reached 261 for two – the biggest total in Vitality Blast history – Sam Hain struck his maiden Blast century (112 from 52 balls with 12 fours and five sixes) in his 88th T20 match.
His partner in crime was Adam Hose – who thrashed 88 from 35 balls (three fours, ten sixes) – climbing the duo a Bears T20 best partnership of 174 (50 balls).
“It hasn’t quite sunk in and it will probably take a few days,” said the Talbots Player of the Match. “Obviously from a personal point of view I’m pleased, but with the schedule the way it is you can’t get too high about it.
“I could have been out first ball, so I went hard a little too early and realised from there it’s just strong shots. A lot of the credit has to go to the lads on the other end like Rob Yates who got off to a flier. We know how talented Adam Hose is and he probably took the pressure off me.
“It’s amazing when two people at the end get going – it’s almost an unstoppable force.”
