Warwickshire County Cricket Club welcomed business leaders and a trio of sporting greats as it hosted the latest Bears Business Club networking event.
On Friday 10 June, 46 guests came together in the Club’s Banqueting Suite to enjoy a ‘Curry & Cricket Night’ and network with like-minded business figures from across the West Midlands.
The Bears Business Club now involves 35 members and aims to use the power of cricket to bring together small and medium-sized businesses across the region.
Guests had the exclusive opportunity to meet sporting icons from the world of athletics, cricket and football, with a VIP panel discussion and Q&A session hosted by BBC and TalkSPORT presenter, Adam Bridge. The panel included Kelly Sotherton, former British heptathlete and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Ian Bell, former Birmingham Bears and England Cricket legend, and Dan Ashworth, the current Sporting Director at Newcastle United FC.
As well as the chance to hear first-hand from some of the most successful names in their field, guests could also enjoy a behind-the-scenes stadium tour with Warwickshire CCC Director of Cricket, Paul Farbrace, followed by a front-row seat to that evening’s T20 Vitality Blast match, with the Birmingham Bears facing the Yorkshire Vikings.
Ben Seifas, Head of Sales & Partnerships at Warwickshire CCC, said: “We were delighted to host the latest networking event for the Bears Business Club, and it was fantastic to welcome Kelly Sotherton, Ian Bell and Dan Ashworth to our VIP panel – they are such greats in their respective fields and members were able to enjoy an evening of fascinating discussion and debate.
