Birmingham Phoenix have completed their men’s and women’s squads by securing Warwickshire all-rounder Dan Mousley and Central Sparks batter Davina Perrin.

Rising star and top order batter Perrin is set to make history as the youngest player to take part in The Hundred at just 15 years old.

A product of Staffordshire and Central Sparks Academy, Perrin has also developed through the ACE programme. She made her professional cricketing debut just two days after her 15th birthday for Central Sparks in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

Perrin said: “It’s a dream come true to have signed for Birmingham Phoenix this summer. To have the opportunity to train and potentially play alongside the likes of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine and Amy Jones is amazing, and I can’t wait to get going.”

Picked during The Hundred Vitality Wildcard Draft, Mousley will add a versatile option to the side that reached The Hundred final last year.

The 20-year-old missed the first half of this year’s Vitality Blast, but since returning to the Birmingham Bears side, has scored three consecutive totals over 40 at a strike rate of 199, whilst taking two wickets.

The pair will also add more local flavour to the Phoenix ranks with Mousley and Perrin born in Nether Whitacre, North Warwickshire, and Wolverhampton respectively.

Mousley said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me, and I can’t wait to join up with such an amazing squad. I really enjoyed the competition last year and I can’t wait to play for my local team at Edgbaston.”

General Manager Craig Flindall said: “We’re delighted to add Dan and Davina to what we think are incredibly strong squads. Dan has showed great potential during the Blast over recent weeks, and we are excited to work with him. Davina may just be 15, but she is an exceptional local talent, who can reach the highest echelons of the game. The opportunity to play and train alongside some of the best cricketers in the game will only help them both fulfil their huge talent.”

Sanjay Patel, Managing Director of The Hundred said: “Today is a really exciting moment as we confirm the squads for the second year of The Hundred. It’s great to see players like Richard Gleeson and George Scrimshaw being rewarded for impressive performances in the Vitality Blast, while we’ve got some exciting youngsters joining the women’s competition with the likes of Davina Perrin and Mahika Gaur being signed up.

“Everyone is welcome at The Hundred and we can’t wait to excite fans with world-class cricket and blockbuster entertainment in just under one month’s time.”
