Warwickshire were the biggest winners at the ECB Business of Cricket Awards (BOCAs) as we claimed four awards at the prestigious First-Class Counties event on Thursday night.

Bears claimed four of the 14 awards handed out to celebrate innovation and best practice across the game, including the Pam Brown EDI Initiative Award 2020-2022 for our ground-breaking Edgbaston for Everyone action plan and multifaith charter.

We also claimed the Sustainability Campaign of the Year 2020-2022 after developing the Edgbaston Pledge to help achieve an ambition for the venue to become the most sustainable cricket stadium in the UK and to be a leader and pioneer for sustainability in UK sport.

There was further success for the off-the-field team as we won the Tickets or Memberships Sales and Marketing Campaign of the Year 2020-2022 for the ‘Unmuzzled’ T20 marketing campaign and Customer Retention Initiative of the Year 2020-2022.

Operations Director, Claire Daniel said: “We’re extremely proud to be recognised by the ECB and the wider game for the hard work and commitment of our off-the-field team to deliver some key and important initiatives across the business.

“Edgbaston for Everyone is our plan to make Edgbaston safe and welcoming for all, reflecting the local communities we serve. Over the last year, we have opened new sensory rooms, improved accessibility services and opened our doors to faith groups across the region as part of this plan.

“Sustainability is also a key part of our business strategy as we strive to be the most sustainable cricket stadium in the UK with the ambitious goal of delivering a carbon net-zero fixture in 2023.”

Head of Marketing, Chris Airey added: “Edgbaston has quickly gained the reputation as a venue that can offer an experienced that is unrivalled across the game, with fans from across the country visiting year-on-year.

“We enjoyed record T20 crowds in 2022, including almost 17,000 fans attending our popular local derby against Worcestershire Rapids. And tickets for our 2023 Major Matches, including the Men’s and Women’s Ashes, have sold quicker than ever.

“We’re already looking forward to another exciting summer in 2023 when we hope to see more full houses across the season.”
