Jake Lintott has vowed to 'keep learning' as he continues his franchise journey this month.

The leg-spinner is due to play for the Desert Vipers in the new UAE-based International League T20 tournament that’s taking cricket by storm.

The world’s best are all descending to the middle east for the six-team competition and Lintott is ready to test himself against cricket’s elite.

“This is just another fantastic opportunity as it’s probably the biggest tournament I’m going to play in at the moment,” said Lintott.

“I’m constantly trying to evolve because when I first came on the scene I was quite new and everyone’s not sure on what to do. People have started to work out what I do so I’m always trying to stay one step ahead.

“I’ve tried to add a few things to my game and I’m just trying to better all the time, because the players are so good. I’ll keep learning and try to stay one step ahead of those batters. It’s a great opportunity for me to perform on the big stage and show what I can do.”

The 29-year-old’s journey to the UAE hasn’t been quiet. After finishing the domestic schedule, Lintott flew to the Abu Dhabi to play in the T10 before heading to Florida to play in the US Open.

The Taunton-native did manage to recharge by spending Christmas with his family and friends, but for Lintott the opportunities are hard to say no to.

“I’ve been really busy, but it’s for me it’s great. I didn’t get as much cricket as I would have liked in the T10 with the Bangla Tigers, but it’s a pretty cool tournament and it was great to be a part of it.

“The US Open was brilliant and I really appreciate the opportunity I received from the Dallas All Stars. I learned a lot from both of the competitions and it was pleasing to try out a few things I’ve been working on, because every place I go to is so different.

“That was the first time I’ve ever been to the UAE, whilst the USA was very different as the wickets were slow and low. I’ll keep learning and bring my experiences back to the Bears as I’m really positive about our chances this summer.

“Last year we got to the same point in the quarter final so hopefully we can go one better to Finals Day. I’m sure that once we get there the home crowd we’ll be on our way.”
