The #HainTrain keeps on rolling.
What turned out to be a little bit of fun on Twitter is now getting the full attention on social media. We can only hope Rob Key has bought a ticket…
Voted Talbot’s Player of the Match following his 83 not out against Yorkshire at Blast Off, Sam was centre of attention again, picking up the accolade for a second time as the Bears beat the Foxes by five wickets.
There were plenty of other candidates, Danny Briggs’ 3/15 halted the hosts to 166/7, whilst Glenn Maxwell’s 47 (27 balls) added impetus alongside Hain. But for many it was an easy choice. Sam’s unbeaten 65 (43 balls, seven fours), showed poise as the Bears lost two early wickets.
“Traditionally this is a tough place to come and play, because you never really know what a good score is,” said Hain. “Credit has to go to Maxi, I thought he played brilliantly and it was cool spending some time out in the middle with him.
“For me it was all about trying to elongate the innings and I got a few out the middle which was nice. It showed that having two people in is key as it allows you to do do different things.
“I think we’ve got another gear and we weren’t great in some areas, so there is room for improvement ahead of a quick turnaround on Monday.”
