Scrivens Opticians

Scrivens is one of the leading UK opticians and hearing care specialists with over 180 locations in the UK. The long-standing club partner currently only use Facebook as a social media platform with a following of nearly 13,000.

Using the most comparable demographic for Scrivens’ target audience, we utilised Warwickshire’s social media reach on Twitter and Facebook to increase brand affiliation and drive engagement.

“Our partnership with Edgbaston has expanded year-on-year, which started with brand awareness and a correlation of demographics. We have worked hard with the team to continue to find new ideas of reaching our target audiences.”

Digital Campaign

Scrivens wanted to target an older demographic and so we used Warwickshire’s Royal London One Day Cup campaign to achieve this, which mainly attracts Members and cricket’s purists.

Scrivens became our Man of the Match sponsor. This allowed us to dedicate at least three posts per match day to Scrivens. It also encouraged engagements through an online poll for people to vote, plus a photo with the Man of the Match and a post-match interview were shared to increase awareness.

Competition

To help further engage our audience and increase visitors to the Scrivens website, we have launched a number of competitions.

We ran a ‘Spot the Ball’ competition, which was hosted on the Scrivens website, but pushed via social media through Warwickshire County Cricket Club. The competition offered the winner a chance of being a mascot at one of the Royal London Cup matches, targeting families and our younger audience through the Junior Bears and our Membership.

We also ran a competition for a grassroots cricket club to win a £1000 sponsorship payment from Scrivens. We were able to get Warwickshire-based cricket clubs to take part in the competition and drive more awareness towards Scrivens’ relationship with Warwickshire.
