Fordhall Organic Farm

Fordhall Organic Farm

Edgbaston are proud to work closely with Fordhall Organic Farm in Shropshire. Our Head Chef Dave Hill and his team have worked with Ben Hollins, tenant Farmer at Fordhall, to offer a selection of public catering outlets on a match day, ensuring a wide variety of offerings for all match day visitors to the Stadium.

About Fordhall Organic Farm

Fordhall Organic Farm, based in North Shropshire, has been chemical free for over 65 years. They rear cattle, sheep and pigs on an outdoor extensive grazing system and have been in community ownership since 2006. By securing Fordhall Farm, the Fordhall Community Land Initiative (FCLI) – the charitable society which owns the farm, is committed to building a sustainable future whilst guaranteeing that farming will be an affordable way of life for generations to come.

Fordhall Farm is now tenanted and run by Ben Hollins. He has been granted a 100 year tenancy from the FCLI and its 8000 strong membership. He manages the 140 acres at Fordhall, which includes wetlands, woodlands, streams, the River Tern and grasslands. Everything Ben rears at Fordhall is sold direct to the public through the farm shoponline shop, farmers’ markets or outside catering such as at Edgbaston.

What to expect on a Match Day

Visitors to the Stadium on a match day can expect to see many food outlets, managed by Ben and his team, fresh from the farm. These include this Hog Roast outlet, a BBQ, Traditional Fish and Chips and our Noodle Bar.

All their burgers are made on the farm by their team of butchers, and all of the sausages are hand linked from pork butchered in their own onsite butchery.

Ben also works with a number of partners on the farm. Such partners provide catering specialising in vegetarian food, halal offerings, healthy choices and family friendly menus.

Ben and Dave have also worked together to develop the Saus’edg’ Roll which is their take on the traditional Sausage Roll, available at various kiosks in the Stadium.
