End of Season Dinner
Warwickshire County Cricket Club held its End of Season Dinner on Friday 6 October in Edgbaston’s fantastic Banqueting Suite. A drinks reception was held in our 1882 Suite overlooking the iconic pitch and the Birmingham Skyline before guests were shown to their tables in the Banqueting Suite which provided a superb and luxurious setting for this event. The Club’s End Of Season Dinner summarised the season, recognised key individual performances and raised money for the Club’s charity – Edgbaston Foundation.
The event was attended by Club sponsors and partners, members, corporate guests, players and staff. With over 250 attendees on the night, Aaron James who was the host for the evening, was responsible for keeping all entertained…and he truly did.
The service from the staff was impeccable and the three-course meal prepared by Edgbaston’s award winning team was delicious.
The night simply had everything! Awards were given out for Community Engagement, Women’s Coaches Player of the Year, Women’s Players’ Player of the Year, Second XI Player of the Year, Member’s Player of the Year, Kim Jones Award for Performance of the Season and Players’ Player of the Year. An auction raised over £2,000 for the Edgbaston Foundation and included some brilliant prizes such as Hotel La Tour stay for 2 including breakfast, dinner, and a VVIP experience in our Chairman’s Lounge for England vs India Test Match. There was also a number of signed memorabilia items from Birmingham City FC, Wasps Rugby, Birmingham Moseley Rugby, Aston Villa and Birmingham Bears which went to the winners of the raffle prize.
The service from the staff was impeccable and the three-course meal prepared by Edgbaston’s award winning team was delicious. The braised feather blade of beef which was served with onion ketchup, truffle mash, crispy onions and rich thyme jus was incredible. With the help of the Edgbaston staff, the catering and the award ceremony ran to schedule, ensuring there was plenty of time to dance and enjoy the music played by Under the Covers band.
