Our dedicated event team will ensure your event will go to plan, on hand from the start to the end, ensuring the fine details are met. Here are some of our tips on ensuring your event impresses all attendees.

Choose the right venue for your banquet

There are many things to consider when choosing your event venue. Not only does event room hire take up a huge proportion of your budget, but the venue also has to tick a lot of boxes that you might not have contemplated, such as size, parking, transport links, disabled access etc.

Edgbaston provides stunning party spaces to hold exclusive and bespoke events with capabilities of hosting variety of event sizes up to 800 guests. The venue has an on-site car parking and is ideally located just one mile from the heart of UK’s second city, minutes from major motorway links, Birmingham’s New Street and Snow Hill Train Stations, only seven miles from Birmingham International Airport and close to several upscale hotels for your out-of-town guests. The state-of-the-art facilities that the redevelopment has created has made Edgbaston into one of the leading banqueting venues in Birmingham.

Provide Menu Choices

Banquets are all about the food, so it’s essential that a lot of thought be put into the menu! Be sure to include a choice of courses, along with options for those with special dietary requirements. It is good practice to have guests RSVP with their menu choice in advance of the event so the right amount of each course is prepared.

Our catering team can create a tailored menu, bespoke for your event including Halal, vegetarian and other special dietary requirements. We have a range of menus to suit your event which offer everything from three-course dining to informal catering and buffets. We consistently deliver exceptional lunch and dinner events by providing excellent service, attention to detail and delicious quality cuisine with fine wines.

Anticipate Special Needs

Today, there are more dietary preferences and concerns to consider than ever before. Before any event, it is critical for an event planner to find out if any of the guests have a special dietary need so that the catering manager can address those needs prior to the event. Special dietary considerations may include:

  • Food allergies (such as lactose intolerance, nut allergies, etc.)
  • Food Intolerances
  • Religious requirements (such as Kosher and Halal)
  • Voluntary dietary restrictions (such as vegetarian)
  • Select a Menu that Fits the Event Schedule

Ways To Provide Beverages

We can quote for a free bar where guests have unlimited access to soft drinks, beer and wine. For the ultimate guest experience, providing an unlimited bar is best. However, if you don’t have the budget to provide all the drink for the duration of the evening, it’s common practice to provide a drinks reception on arrival and wine at the table while your guests are eating. You can then provide a bar where they can purchase additional beverages.

The Entertainment

Before, during and after the food is served, your guests expect to be entertained. Entertainment can come in many forms, and depends hugely on your budget. However, many event organisers choose:

  • Live music
  • Speaker
  • Stand up comedy
  • Stand up Magicians
  • Circus acts

Make sure your entertainment is in-line with your theme, and work with the master of ceremony to integrate it effortlessly into the overall flow of the event.

Transportation & Logistics

It’s important that you provide your guests with detailed information about where the banquet venue is located, how they can get there, along with any other information about public transport or recommended taxi companies. If you have chosen to provide transport yourself, include details of this within the invitation/ticket.
