On Saturday 13 August 2022, UK Muslim Film are set to stage the first official event to be hosted on the Edgbaston Plaza as they present an exclusive family Pop Up Cinema event.
After unveiling the Edgbaston Plaza in April, the 14,800²m space has revolutionised the entrance to the stadium and how visitors have been welcomed on matchdays throughout the first half of 2022 cricket season.
Now, with the height of summer upon us, it is incredibly exciting to be able to work with UK Muslim Film to deliver a family-friendly, celebratory event using this superb space.
With the aim of becoming the ‘beating heart’ of the local region, the launch of the UKMF Pop Up Cinema event presents the perfect opportunity to introduce local people to Edgbaston and bring together families from all backgrounds in our multicultural city.
This special event will be celebrating the success of talented Muslim writer, director and filmmaker Lena Khan, by showcasing two of her family-friendly feature films on the big screen – ‘Flora & Ulysses’ and ‘The Tiger Hunter’.
Together with the opportunity to watch both films, ticket-holders will be able to enjoy a fun-filled day with access to an array of food vendors, stalls from local businesses showcasing their products, plus plenty of other special attractions too.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online via Eventbrite here.
Adult tickets are available for just £20 with children 12 years old or under at £12 and infants 3 or under going free. Please note that all under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult.
