Abandoned: Birmingham Bears v Yorkshire Vikings, NatWest T20 Blast
Birmingham Bears and Yorkshire Vikings tasted frustration at Edgbaston as their NatWest T20 Blast tussle was completely washed out.
The Vikings won the chose and chose to bowl but, two minutes before the scheduled 7pm start, heavy rain set in and it never relented. The game was abandoned just before 9pm.
The two teams took a point apiece which at least meant that the Vikings opened their points tally at the fourth attempt.
Kane Williamson was in the Vikings team, returning for his third stint with Yorkshire, but the Kiwi was thwarted along with the several thousand spectators who stuck at it with stoic good spirit through the drizzle until the umpires bowed to the inevitable.
