Report: Warwickshire v Somerset, Second XI Championship
A first innings of 57 all out cost Warwickshire 2nd XI dear as they went on to lose their opening match of the season to Somerset by 236 runs at the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground.
The Bears started strongly by bowling the bowling visitors out for 138, Olly Stone taking five for 40 and Henry Brookes two for 22. But their reply amounted to just 57 all out in 21 overs, with only Jake Bethell (26 from 27 balls) offering resistance.
Somerset then amassed 366 second time round, Dan Mousley taking four 31, to set the Bears a daunting 488 to win. In the Bears total of 211, the biggest contributions came in the middle order from Ethan Brookes (50), Roshan Balaji (40) and Bethell (30)
