Report: Gloucestershire v Bears, Women's T20 - Match One
Bears Women won their first T20 match of the day against Gloucestershire Women by 120 runs.
Ahead of the fixture, the Bears were sitting top of the Group 3 table after three wins and one defeat in the campaign so far.
In their penultimate game of the round-robin ground stage, the Bears ran out comfortable winners after a brilliant batting display led by Captain Marie Kelly, who top-scored with 99 off 61 balls.
The openers put on first-wicket partnership of 111, before Evelyn Jones was first out for 39 – but at this point the Bears were in the driving seat and looked set to build a big total.
Kelly carried on her fine batting display but fell agonisingly short of a well-deserved century, hitting 17 fours and one six along the way, as the Bears closes their 20 overs on 190/8.
A very disciplined bowling display by the Bears restricted Gloucestershire to just 70 all out in reply. Georgia Davis (5/14) led the way taking an exceptional five wickets.
Hannah Baker (2/10) and Anisha Patel (1/7) took the other wickets as the Bears won their first game of the day by a comfortable 120 runs.
