The WCB Volunteer of the Month for May is Peter Biggs from Walmley Cricket Club.
Peter is attending the Bears V Pears on Friday 23rd June at Edgbaston, and will recieve a £75 gift voucher for the Warwickshire CCC shop.
Peter has been a member of Walmley cricket club for over 60 years. He is 84 years old and every day, all year round, he attends the club to tidy up, pick up litter & generally helps the groundstaff with any jobs that need doing. He does this during the day when the vast majority of members are not present, so no-one sees the work he does – he is an unseen & unsung hero. This award is a fitting recognition for a man who has given so much to grass roots cricket & continues to do so at such an advanced age.
