We are delighted to announce that John Griffiths has been awarded the Warwickshire Coaches Association Services to Coaching Award
John was nominated for his years of service to coaching, mentoring, supporting, and helping to develop players across Warwickshire. His commitment to helping players develop is second to none and a thoroughly deserving recipient of this award.
John Griffiths’ commitment to Warwickshire pathway cricket goes back over 20 years when he first engaged as Manager of the U12 boys with a young whippersnapper by the name of Ed McCabe as his lead coach.
John soon evolved into a lead and assistant coach himself and has moved up and down age groups since, taking on the U12 coaching role himself along the way, while working with both Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali during their time in the county age group at Warwickshire CCC. From district to CAG to development centres to B teams – John has done it all, whilst at the same time contributing to two major club junior sections (Walmley CC and Sutton Coldfield CC) and serving as a trusted, loyal and committed 1-1 coach for the Edgbaston Cricket Centre. His service across the county but also to the North Birmingham region should not be underestimated.
