On Monday, December 2nd, we hosted a SEN table cricket festival at Ark St Albans Academy in Birmingham, funded by the Lords Taverners.

Schools from inner city Birmingham were invited to play table cricket, some playing for the first time.

Small Heath, Calthorpe Academy, Clifton Primary, Chandos, and Ark St Albans participated in a round robin style festival.

Four of which are new schools that the Foundation are working with this year to introduce cricket to SEN students.

Nigel Perry Ogden, Disability Development Officer, organised the event and said “It’s great to be able to introduce table cricket to so many new people who get to experience cricket in a different way. It’s a simple game with simple rules, but just as fun and competitive as traditional cricket.”

“I would encourage anyone who would like to try table cricket to definitely give it a go.”

In Warwickshire, we strive to engage and support those with a wide range of accessibility needs through varied playing and social opportunities.
