Last Wednesday, students from the Edgbaston Cricket Education Programme, in partnership with Sandwell College, traveled to Derby.
The team, consisting of both Year 1 and Year 2 students, competed in the Association of Colleges Indoor Cricket Championships, West Midlands Qualifier.
They competed against seven other colleges in the West Midlands, including Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College, Birmingham Metropolitan College, and Stoke-on-Trent College.
The tournament was held in a league format, with the winner advancing to the National Finals in April.
Our team of Sandwell College students won all four games, concluding with a decisive victory over their closest rivals of the day, Birmingham Metropolitan College.
The group is set to compete in the National Finals in April, aiming to bring the trophy back to Edgbaston.
Joshua Howells-Holloway, who oversees the Edgbaston Cricket Education Programme said: “A huge congratulations and well done to all those involved. Watch this space for updates from the finals in April.”
